A variety of good and not so good mods included in the Torchlight 2 Essential Pack, which will appeal to players wanting a single mod which fixes most of their problems. Features include: New pets, a new skill system in place of a pure attribute system, a bunch of new buildings, crafting, and general content updates. It even fixes incorrect weapon – prop combinations.

This mod adds the warlock and the assassin of Diablo III to Torchlight 2. Each is fairly balanced and feel different than other classes. For example, the warlock is a melee class with a very strong summon-type spell that can be upgraded, or the assassin has a strong ranged attack at longer ranges and is equipped with a bow.

Torchlight II now fully supports Steam Workshop. Steam Workshop integration allows for automatic mod subscription and synchronization for any mods hosted on the Workshop. When playing Internet games you will be able to filter modded games by mod combination in the lobby, and with a single button click, subscribe to those mods. Torchlight II will then restart, synchronize and activate them before returning you to the game.

As a purely selfish mod, I could just about do with this, but with as many weapons as there are in the mod, it would take an absolute age to find one weapon and a pre-set of mods that would ensure you're all set. Here's what you get:

It's also now released and available to the public. Even better, it comes with integrated Steam Workshop support, giving players an easy-to-install database of the community's best efforts. While it's understandably sparse at the moment, Runic have themselves provided a couple of mods to kick things off, enabling support for Respec Potions and eight player multiplayer.

Torchlight II has always been one of the best third-person dungeon crawler games out there, winning hearts and minds from those who prefer the genre to the over-priced, over-polished Call of Duty games.

To install a mod, just download the mod installer and click it on your desktop. After installation the mod will not be loaded, the only thing that will be made available to the player is the mod menu. Simply open that menu and select the mod you want to add to your game. 7211a4ac4a
